Job Summary:
At AbbVie, we are at the intersection of science and beauty, and we proudly lead the aesthetics industry in Japan. This dynamic role is part of our Japan Commercial Organization and reports directly to the Head of Business Excellence. You will engage in two critical areas: (1) Strategy & Transformation, where you will spearhead high-impact, cross-functional projects aimed at enhancing commercial performance and driving organizational change; and (2) New Product Introduction (NPI) & Business Evaluation, where you will assess market opportunities for our pipeline products through comprehensive market sizing, business case development, and customer insights. The ideal candidate will possess a strategy consulting background and demonstrate the ability to transform ambiguity into clear decisions, prioritization, and measurable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Consulting: Collaborate closely with the General Manager to design comprehensive strategic projects across the Japan organization, from defining challenges to implementation. Convert vision into actionable strategic plans, practical roadmaps, governance frameworks, and KPI-driven workstreams.
- Transformation & Performance Improvement: Identify performance gaps, root causes, and actionable opportunities across various commercial functions, including segmentation, targeting, consumer engagement, and marketing strategy. Develop forward-looking scenarios considering market dynamics and propose actionable plans while aligning stakeholders and enhancing capabilities.
- Stakeholder Leadership: Facilitate collaboration across departments such as Commercial, Marketing, Medical, Regulatory, Finance, and Customer Service to ensure holistic decision-making. Produce concise, executive-ready narratives that elucidate choices, trade-offs, and risks, while facilitating governance forums that promote timely decision-making and accountability.
- NPI Opportunity Assessment: Analyze launch opportunities for new aesthetics products in Japan, creating market sizing models, understanding consumer insights, and formulating revenue, pricing, and investment models to guide portfolio prioritization.
- Voice-of-Customer: Lead structured insight-gathering initiatives with clinics and key opinion leaders to identify unmet needs and barriers to adoption. Translate insights into actionable implications for product design and commercial strategy.
- Launch Readiness & Portfolio Governance: Ensure readiness for product launches by coordinating cross-functional teams and monitoring performance against established KPIs.
