THE ROLE
The Marketing team plays a crucial role in supporting our Global Fine Art departments by sourcing and promoting their auctions and private sales. Marketing also aims to solidify Sotheby’s position within the broader art market ecosystem through strategic partnerships and events.
The Senior Marketing Manager will create and execute innovative marketing strategies for categories within the Fine Art division in New York, ensuring alignment with the company's objectives.
This position will engage across all consumer touchpoints and leverage Sotheby’s comprehensive channels, including the website, video, photography, social media, editorial content, catalogues, advertising, out-of-home activations, and events. Collaboration will be essential with key partners including Global Fine Art specialist departments, Press, and other Marketing functions such as Digital/Paid, Brand Creative, and Exhibition Design.
Success in this role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong execution skills, and a proven capacity for creative, strategic, and analytical thinking regarding marketing campaigns from inception through to execution.
Campaign Development
- Lead the ideation and creation of 360° multi-platform marketing campaigns across a portfolio of Fine Art categories in New York, aimed at driving awareness, reinforcing brand positioning, supporting client acquisition, and enhancing engagement with existing collectors.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues across Press, Content & Creative, Special Events, and Digital Marketing to develop integrated campaigns as part of larger consignment proposals to attract new business.
- Work alongside the Global Proposals Team on campaign strategy, timelines, materials, and client pitches.
Campaign Execution
- Oversee end-to-end execution of marketing campaigns, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and brand standards.
