The Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Mine Planner to spearhead strategic mine planning, opportunity assessments, and long-term optimization across our diverse portfolio of mining projects. This pivotal role entails defining evaluation, design, sequencing, and optimization methodologies for our mines—from initial concept analysis to comprehensive life-of-mine planning.
As a Senior Mine Planner, you will take ownership of long-range mine planning and multi-pit optimization initiatives, establishing the technical and analytical groundwork for capital allocation, project prioritization, and strategic development. You will implement company-wide standards and best practices for short-, medium-, and long-term mine planning, ensuring consistency, rigor, and high-quality decision-making across all assets.
This senior technical leadership position sits at the nexus of geology, mine engineering, economics, and corporate strategy, influencing project viability, sequencing, and value maximization over time.
What You’ll Do
Strategic Opportunity Evaluation
Lead technical inputs for mine planning during project screening, opportunity evaluation, and portfolio-level decision-making.
Create high-level mine concepts, production profiles, and sequencing options to facilitate investment, acquisition, and development decisions.
Collaborate with geology, metallurgy, and commercial teams to assess trade-offs regarding scale, timing, risk, and value.
Long-Range Mine Planning & Optimization
Lead the development of long-range (LOM) mine plans that optimize NPV, operational flexibility, and strategic optionality.
Execute multi-pit optimization, phase sequencing, and cutback strategy development across complex deposits.
Analyze alternative development strategies, mining rates, and sequencing scenarios to enhance decision-making.
