As a Senior Perception Engineer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing and implementing perception algorithms for our autonomous vehicles. Collaborating with a team of elite scientists and engineers specializing in deep learning, computer vision, and self-driving technologies, you will develop pioneering solutions that empower our vehicles to accurately perceive their environments. We prioritize creativity, innovation, and a strong commitment to experimental validation and code quality as we transition research concepts into real-world applications, pushing the limits of self-driving technology.
Your Responsibilities Include:
- Prototyping, evaluating, and refining perception algorithms using real-world data and simulations to enhance the accuracy, robustness, and safety of our self-driving technology, focusing on 3D detection and tracking of traffic agents and semantic understanding of various traffic scenes.
- Identifying challenges and proposing pragmatic, long-term solutions based on research insights, utilizing your expertise in deep learning, computer vision, and autonomous systems.
- Collaborating with platform teams to productize and deploy perception algorithms in our self-driving vehicles, ensuring seamless integration of research outcomes.
- Promoting engineering excellence by ensuring high-quality, well-structured, and thoroughly tested code.
- Working within a multidisciplinary team to address challenges related to perception, motion forecasting, planning, traffic modeling, and sensor simulation, while integrating research findings into our unified self-driving platform.
- Keeping abreast of the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, computer vision, and self-driving technologies, and applying relevant insights from academic literature.
- Analyzing large datasets from various sources, including Waabi World, our high-fidelity simulator.
- Contributing to the dissemination of research outcomes through publications in conferences and on Waabi's blog.
