As a Senior Plumbing Engineer, you will collaborate with clients to create integrated fire protection designs for various structures. Your responsibilities will include designing fire sprinkler and alarm systems, conducting egress and code analyses, and providing technical support to meet project goals. This role involves fieldwork, design, coordination, and construction administration. You will also play a pivotal role in developing a fire protection service team that specializes in a wide array of fire system designs and compliance services. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead fire protection engineering staff in the development of concepts, strategies, construction documents, and engineering reports for new builds and renovations.
- Build a specialized fire protection group focusing on system design, fire alarm systems, code reviews, and fire and smoke modeling.
- Oversee the design and management of fire protection systems including sprinklers and alarms.
- Conduct code and egress analyses for new constructions, renovations, and additions.
- Design smoke control systems utilizing Contam or similar design software.
- Provide mechanical leadership on large, multi-discipline design projects involving fire protection.
- Manage fire protection design for various sectors including corrections, higher education, laboratories, and healthcare.
- Perform fire protection hydraulic calculations using industry-standard software.
- Execute fire alarm designs independently.
- Engage directly with clients to analyze design options, perform cost-benefit comparisons, and effectively communicate findings to assist in decision-making.
- Guide and manage fire protection project teams to achieve project objectives and uphold quality standards.
