Join Acadia Center as a Senior Policy Advocate, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping energy and climate policy across Northern New England, primarily focusing on Maine and New Hampshire. This position aims to elevate Acadia Center's regional and state objectives through collaborative multi-state and cross-border initiatives.
Your advocacy will be essential in promoting and executing advancements in energy and climate policy, with an emphasis on clean energy, utility reforms, energy efficiency, and various climate solutions. You will participate in legislative processes and regulatory discussions while engaging the public to communicate Acadia Center's priorities and proposed solutions. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with partner organizations, building coalitions, drafting educational materials, managing media relations, developing analytical reports, and coordinating strategic planning efforts with Acadia Center teams.
Key responsibilities entail advocating for policy reforms, engaging stakeholders, drafting various materials, conducting technical analyses, participating in public speaking engagements, and fostering coalition building. We seek candidates with a strong commitment to public engagement and sustainable energy, ideally possessing at least five years of relevant experience. Strong quantitative skills and a passion for climate action and energy justice are essential. The role requires residency in Maine or New Hampshire and a willingness to represent Acadia Center in person.
