About the job
Join the MatX Revolution
We are on the lookout for an experienced Senior Power Engineer to become a vital member of our Hardware Systems team. In this pivotal role, you will define, design, and validate the comprehensive power architecture for our cutting-edge rack-scale AI data center product. Your expertise will be instrumental in optimizing power efficiency, scalability, and overall system performance across the entire power delivery path—from the rack level to the chip.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with diverse cross-functional teams, including silicon, system, thermal, mechanical, and JDM partners, to develop innovative power solutions from concept through to production.
- Craft detailed power specifications, management strategies, and precise power estimation models.
- Design and implement voltage regulators that align with both silicon and system-level specifications.
- Test and validate complex voltage regulator designs in laboratory settings during initial silicon bring-up, ensuring stable and clean power delivery within specified tolerances through rigorous workload testing.
- Ensure that all designs comply with industry standards and regulations, including electrical safety and thermal management.
- Lead and mentor fellow engineers during board and system integration processes.
Who We Are Looking For
- 10–15 years of experience in power design.
- Profound knowledge of high-power architecture topologies, including buck DC-DC converters and multi-phase VRMs.
- Expertise with modeling tools for transient analysis (e.g., Simplis, HSPICE) and CAD tools for schematic entry and layout (e.g., Allegro).
- Demonstrated skills in lab bring-up, debugging techniques, design validation, and operation of standard lab equipment.
- A proven track record of delivering commercially viable products.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- A strong team player with a collaborative spirit.
- Familiarity with ORV3 HPR, VHDC, and data center power delivery is an advantage.
- Knowledge of dynamic workload management would be beneficial.
- This role involves both design and lab work, requiring hands-on engagement.
- This is a hybrid position requiring you to work from our Mountain View, CA office three days a week, from Tuesday to Thursday.
