Position Overview:
We are on the lookout for a Senior Product Manager / Product Lead to spearhead our Cross-Border Shipping initiative at AHOY. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for shaping our product strategy from conception to implementation, ensuring that our solutions align with the evolving demands of the market. The ideal candidate will possess an extensive understanding of shipping and logistics, outstanding leadership capabilities, and a proven history of successful product management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the product roadmap and PRDs: Define measurable outcomes, write precise PRDs, oversee the backlog, and facilitate sprint rituals with engineering and UX teams.
- Conduct customer discovery and validate product-market fit: Engage with SMB/B2B shippers, map jobs-to-be-done (JTBD), prioritize shipping corridors, and swiftly validate issues.
- Oversee shipping processes and IOR/EOR flows: Develop landed-cost metrics (duties/taxes), assist with HS-code, manage DDP/DAP selections, document packs, digital PoA, and ensure customs compliance.
- Lead integrations: Collaborate with carriers, customs brokers, IOR/EOR providers, payment processors, and e-commerce plugin integrations (Shopify/WooCommerce).
- Leverage data and experimentation: Establish event schemas, optimize funnels, conduct weekly experiments (pricing, activation, UX), and produce dashboards.
- Analyze pricing and unit economics: Model contribution margins per shipment and merchant, execute A/B pricing tests, and enhance GP/shipment and IOR/EOR attach rates.
- Coordinate go-to-market strategies and partnerships: Manage merchant pilots, referrals, partner co-marketing initiatives, and provider scorecards; assist with sales enablement and onboarding.
- Ensure operational reliability: Define SLAs, create exception playbooks (holds/returns/claims), implement security protocols, and manage incident response with engineering.
- Governance: Facilitate weekly product council and monthly strategic reviews; articulate decisions, risks, and progress updates.
- Success metrics: Own core KPIs including Gross Profit per Active Merchant (GPAM), quote-to-shipment conversion rates, IOR/EOR attach rates, GM per shipment, customs clearance success percentages, and exception resolution times.
Expectations within the First 30 Days:
- Complete discovery activities, agree on KPIs, publish MVP PRD and analytics specifications, and align pilot merchants and providers for 1-2 corridors.
