The Software Quality Operations (SWQOps) team is pivotal in assuring the safety, reliability, and quality of the Waymo Driver. Our goal is to create a flexible and scalable operation, increasingly driven by AI, to provide vital insights that facilitate the confident deployment and expansion of Waymo's autonomous vehicle services.

As Waymo experiences remarkable growth, with plans to enter approximately 20 new cities by the end of 2026 and introduce new vehicle platforms, the SWQ Ops team is essential for safe and efficient scaling. The Scenario Operations team within SWQ Ops is responsible for the delivery and maintenance of simulation-based testing coverage that evaluates the safety and performance of our driver as we expand. Your Responsibilities:
- Design Scalable Testing Framework: Lead the development of a simulation-based testing engine to ensure our testing infrastructure scales in tandem with our fleet as we expand into over 20 new cities and diverse vehicle platforms.
- Advocate for Internal Clients: Serve as a strategic liaison between SWQ Ops and Waymo’s test coverage users, translating extensive test requirements into actionable operational plans while maintaining clear visibility into progress and potential risks.
- Integrate Technology & Operations: Collaborate with Simulation and Evaluation Engineering to support the design, rollout, and operationalization of cutting-edge AI-assisted tools utilized by our global vendor teams.
- Pursue Operational Excellence: Ensure high-quality outcomes through rigorous deployments with a global vendor workforce, developing stringent quality standards and standard operating procedures for every simulation test.
