This role is pivotal in supporting a significant hydroelectric project in New Brunswick, necessitating three weeks of work each month at the project office located in Fredericton, NB. All travel and accommodation costs will be reimbursed.
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to enhance our dynamic team engaged in large-scale hydroelectric and industrial initiatives. The ideal candidate will act as the principal liaison for clients and oversee all facets of project delivery, from conception and design through to construction and commissioning, emphasizing hydroelectric structures, dams, power stations, hydraulic works, and complex industrial infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering and project delivery teams, ensuring all services, deliverables, and reports meet client expectations.
- Apply creativity, foresight, and sound judgment to preemptively address technical, project delivery, and client-related challenges, whether straightforward or intricate.
- Set objectives, technical specifications, and frameworks for extensive programs and projects.
- Guarantee compliance with company health and safety protocols and quality management systems.
- Manage and track contractual commitments for engineering endeavors of varying scales and complexities.
- Keep abreast of industry standards, codes, and best practices, ensuring their implementation across all projects.
- Oversee project management functions, including scheduling, budgeting, risk management, quality assurance, and document control; monitor expenses, timelines, and quality, enacting corrective measures as necessary.
- Facilitate project meetings, ensuring prompt preparation and dissemination of minutes, while guaranteeing meetings are productive and decisions are made efficiently.
- Supervise disciplinary resources and/or assist in generating deliverables, including presentations, calculations, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates pertinent to hydroelectric works, industrial infrastructure, hydraulic structures, and mechanical, electrical, and auxiliary systems.
- Proactively manage and control projects; regulate scope and changes in line with company standards and contractual stipulations.
- Oversee the preparation of deliverables for critical project milestones, employing rigorous project development logic and clear, structured, and consistent communication.
- Assist with commissioning, start-up, and project handover processes.
- Mentor and train team members while identifying high-potential talent.
- Collaborate with sector and regional leaders to ensure adherence to internal approval processes for service offerings and projects.
- Work closely with clients to ensure satisfaction at all project stages.
