Position Overview
We are in search of a Senior Reliability Engineer to bolster the reliability, performance, and stability of our data and cloud platforms specifically tailored for retail. This pivotal role will collaborate closely with our Data Engineering, Analytics, and Retail Operations teams to guarantee that store, inventory, and supply chain data is accurate, dependable, and accessible in real time.
You will be instrumental in monitoring and maintaining Azure-based data pipelines, optimizing workloads within Fabric Lakehouse, and enhancing automation throughout our retail technology landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the reliability, performance, and uptime of data pipelines that drive retail operations (including POS data, supply chain feeds, and inventory updates).
- Utilize Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and custom dashboards to monitor production workloads.
- React to incidents, troubleshoot failures, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement preventative measures.
- Enhance ETL/ELT workflows using Azure Data Factory (ADF) for retail data sets.
- Automate integrations with systems such as Power BI (e.g., POS, ERP, loyalty systems) via Azure Logic Apps.
- Establish quality checks, data validations, and alerts to maintain data freshness and accuracy.
- Craft and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures that support operational data stores.
- Engage with Azure services including Storage Accounts, Key Vault, Azure Functions, Event Grid, and App Insights.
- Support CI/CD pipelines for data integration and Fabric workloads utilizing Azure DevOps.
- Design and maintain Fabric Lakehouse pipelines for reporting, forecasting, and analytics.
- Employ Fabric Notebooks and PySpark for data transformations, batch processing, and scaling extensive retail data workloads.
- Partner with BI teams to ensure data is prepared and reliable for dashboards and real-time insights.
- Discover opportunities to automate manual tasks and enhance reliability across retail systems.
