About the job
As a Senior Scientist I in Peptide Early Phase Analytical R&D at AbbVie, you will play a pivotal role in pioneering innovative scientific research and development. Your responsibilities will include the independent optimization of new methodologies to ensure the timely generation of reliable and reproducible data, showcasing your broad technical expertise. You will contribute to the early phase development of New Chemical Entities (NCEs), particularly focusing on synthetic peptides, and collaborate with a diverse array of partners within the global Analytical R&D organization, including cross-functional teams in Pre-Clinical Safety (PCS), Process Chemistry, Process Engineering, Drug Product Development (DPD), Quality Assurance (QA), and CMC-Regulatory Affairs.
This position emphasizes the transition of NCEs from Discovery to Development Sciences. You will operate as a representative of Analytical Research and Development within a highly collaborative team that encompasses Discovery, Process Chemistry, Quantitative and Translational ADME Sciences (QTAS), Safety Pharmacology, Pre-Clinical Safety (PCS), and Molecular Profiling and Drug Delivery (MPDD). Candidates should be well-versed in organic chemistry principles relevant to analytical chemistry, such as stereoisomers, functional groups, and pKa values. A strong background in peptide development is required, with a preference for experience in chromatographic analysis (HPLC or GC) and Mass Spectrometry.
