About this Role
We are on the lookout for a Senior Server Engineer to become a key member of our B2B team. Your role will involve crafting innovative sponsored experiences that captivate millions of athletes while generating revenue that is essential for Strava’s ongoing growth and success.
This position follows a flexible hybrid model, requiring you to be on-site at our San Francisco office for three days a week.
What You’ll Do:
Design and develop engaging products that resonate with both Strava’s end-users and B2B partners.
Continuously improve the Challenges product to enhance growth for both consumers and B2B clients.
Oversee the management and delivery of complex projects and technical migrations from conception to launch.
Contribute to shaping a team culture focused on continuous iteration, experimentation, and incremental progress.
Mentor engineers across the organization, sharing not only technical knowledge but also best practices, habits, and decision-making strategies that empower engineers to thrive.
What You’ll Bring to the Team:
A minimum of 7 years of professional software development experience or equivalent proficiency in server engineering.
Expertise in distributed systems, relational databases, and scalable backend system languages.
Proven project management abilities, capable of coordinating the efforts of engineers in conjunction with product and design teams.
Strong communication skills for providing and receiving constructive feedback, fostering a culture of ongoing improvement within teams.
A data-driven approach to decision-making, engaging others and understanding the implications of choices made.
