About Our Client
Our client is a rapidly growing fintech startup that is revolutionizing the way e-commerce brands safeguard and recover their revenue. Their innovative platform automates chargeback prevention and dispute resolution, streamlining a traditionally cumbersome process into a swift, intelligent, and effective workflow.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer who excels in fast-paced environments and is passionate about taking charge of complex, business-critical systems. In this pivotal role, you will oversee a crucial segment of our payments dispute resolution platform, enhancing it into a stable, scalable, and dependable product.
As one of the first engineers based in LATAM, you will be part of a small, high-impact team that collaborates closely with an offshore development partner. Our existing codebase is a production-ready PHP/CodeIgniter system that has rapidly evolved with a lean team, which means there will be technical debt, limited test coverage, and performance challenges. If the prospect of improving and modernizing existing systems excites you, this position is perfect for you.
Core Responsibilities
Take complete ownership of a key business domain, driving it toward stability and reliability.
Write, review, and refactor code while addressing production issues.
Systematically reduce technical debt without hindering product delivery.
Collaborate closely with our offshore development team.
Make informed technical decisions that balance immediate impact with long-term maintainability.
Establish foundational testing practices to ensure code quality.
