Job Overview
We are searching for a Senior Software Engineer who excels in fast-paced environments and takes pride in managing complex, critical systems. In this position, you will oversee an essential component of our payments dispute resolution platform, guiding its evolution into a stable, scalable, and reliable product.
As one of the initial LATAM-based engineers, you will join a small, high-impact team that collaborates closely with an offshore development partner. Our current codebase is a production-ready PHP/CodeIgniter system that has rapidly expanded with a lean team—resulting in some technical debt, limited test coverage, and performance challenges. If the prospect of improving and modernizing real-world systems excites you, this opportunity is perfect for you.
Key Responsibilities
Assume full ownership of a core business domain and drive it toward enhanced stability and reliability.
Write, review, and refactor code while addressing production issues.
Systematically reduce technical debt while ensuring timely product delivery.
Collaborate closely with our offshore development team.
Make informed technical decisions that balance immediate impacts with long-term maintainability.
Develop foundational tests to ensure code quality and system reliability.
