Join Salla as a Senior/Staff Analytics Engineer and be a pivotal force in leveraging data to inform key business strategies. In this influential role, you will be responsible for crafting and sustaining high-performance data pipelines, devising insightful analytics solutions, and working closely with diverse teams to enhance data literacy across the organization.
Your expertise will guide the advancement of our analytics infrastructure, ensuring that all business units access top-tier data for thorough analysis and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data models and transformation pipelines using dbt, SQL, and data platforms such as Databricks, BigQuery, or Snowflake.
- Collaborate with business, product, and analytics teams to align data products with strategic KPIs focusing on e-commerce, merchant success, and customer experience.
- Establish and uphold data governance, testing, documentation, and quality standards throughout the data stack.
- Manage workflows using Airflow or similar tools to ensure automation, traceability, and reliability.
- Work alongside engineers to integrate upstream data sources, including APIs and both real-time and batch data.
- Enhance the experience of developers and analysts through semantic layer design, self-service capabilities, and performance optimization.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the overall growth and maturity of Salla’s data organization.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in analytics engineering or a related domain.
- Proficient in advanced SQL and possess strong expertise in dbt, including modeling, testing, and documentation.
- Hands-on experience with modern data platforms such as Databricks, BigQuery, or Snowflake.
- Deep understanding of dimensional modeling, semantic layers, and governed data products.
- Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools like Airflow or equivalent.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms, including Google BigQuery, AWS Redshift, or Azure Synapse.
- Knowledge of analytics visualization tools like Tableau or Looker.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with a data-driven mindset.
- Excellent communication abilities and a collaborative spirit to thrive in team settings.
- Prior experience in e-commerce, SaaS, or fintech industries is highly desirable.
- Fluency in Arabic is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience in the GCC market is advantageous.
