- Implement software development best practices to maintain the platform's longevity and efficiency.
- Partner with the Engineering Manager to map out the Data team’s strategic roadmap and define operational processes.
- Mentor mid-level engineers on the Data team, offering guidance on technical best practices and effective problem-solving techniques.
As a Staff Data Engineer, you will...
- Create and maintain documentation for data products and systems.
- Provide insights to stakeholders regarding the constraints and assumptions related to data processed through the unified platform.
- Phase out outdated legacy systems without disrupting core functionality for end users.
- Monitor Cloud and SaaS expenditures for anomalies and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Participate in the on-call rotation (approximately every four weeks), triaging and resolving alerts as necessary.
- Coordinate with other senior engineers across the tech team to ensure aligned decision-making and strategic planning.
