We are seeking an experienced Senior Staff Scientist – Fault-Tolerant Quantum Algorithms to spearhead the technical development of groundbreaking quantum solutions that will deliver significant societal value. In this pivotal role, you will lead a cross-functional team dedicated to IonQ's mission of addressing the world’s most intricate challenges using our state-of-the-art quantum computers.
As a technical expert in fault-tolerant algorithms, you will drive the discovery of next-generation quantum applications that surpass the capabilities of conventional methods. You will be a vital contributor to our technical leadership in quantum algorithms, influencing research on innovative quantum algorithms, developing intellectual property, computational resource models, strategic roadmaps, and comprehensive workflows that could disrupt the computing landscape. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with product, engineering, marketing, sales, operations, and external partners to brainstorm novel concepts, propose complex multi-year projects, and represent IonQ at prestigious technical conferences—all in a day’s work!
