Job Overview:
The Senior Tax Accountant will engage in a variety of tax reporting, compliance, and strategic planning initiatives as directed by the Tax Manager. This role involves supporting and reviewing month-end closing activities to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough research and compile data for federal, state, local, international, and indirect tax returns.
- Prepare and review foreign direct and indirect tax filings, along with necessary reconciliations.
- Oversee monthly reconciliations of tax accounts on the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Independently prepare and assess quarterly tax estimates and year-end extensions to meet filing deadlines.
- Draft SOX control documentation.
- Manage information gathering for tax authority audits and other special projects.
- Facilitate communication and negotiations with tax authorities regarding tax payment matters through correspondence.
- Maintain the tax calendar, tax notice log, and carryover schedules diligently.
- Guarantee the punctual and precise filing of governmental surveys, property tax returns, and other indirect tax obligations.
- Stay informed on current and forthcoming tax legislation and requirements.
- Investigate tax-related issues across all applicable areas and document findings, while reviewing and implementing new or amended laws.
- Prepare reconciliations for unclaimed property records and associated filings.
