We are seeking a Senior Technical Product Manager II to spearhead the development and launch of DigitalOcean’s cutting-edge Security Products, ensuring high-quality execution and effective communication with our customers. This pivotal role bridges security product strategy with engineering delivery, transforming customer requirements and security outcomes into well-defined tasks and actionable increments.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with engineering and UX teams to optimize backlog management, maintain a smooth delivery cadence, manage dependencies, and ensure readiness for releases across various Security Products workstreams. You will also play a key role in enhancing our communication strategies surrounding Security Products and incident updates. This includes crafting clear written narratives, developing launch materials, and establishing reusable templates, checklists, and workflows that ensure consistency, accuracy, and timeliness in product launches and incident communications in partnership with Corporate Communications, Product Marketing, and Developer Relations.
You will report directly to the Head of Security Products, who oversees the overall portfolio strategy and the broader Security narrative.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the comprehensive execution of one or more Security Products workstreams, translating strategic goals and customer needs into precise requirements and deliverable increments.
- Act as the technical product owner for your area by managing a healthy backlog, writing high-quality user stories and acceptance criteria, and facilitating prompt decision-making to keep engineering processes clear and efficient.
- Work closely with engineering leadership to enhance delivery planning, provide estimates, manage dependencies, and ensure release readiness, all while focusing on predictable outcomes and minimizing rework.
- Collaborate with UX and UI designers to create intuitive security experiences in the DigitalOcean console and API, and translate those designs into actionable requirements and workflows.
- Engage cross-functionally with Security, IAM, Networking, Support, Billing, and service teams to ensure seamless customer journeys, defined ownership boundaries, and effective remediation paths.
- Establish and uphold release criteria for your scope, including quality standards, rollout strategies, and customer readiness metrics.
