About the job
Join Us in Transforming API Management!
At Kong, we believe in the power of connectivity. If you find yourself intrigued by this opportunity, even if you don’t meet every requirement, we encourage you to apply. We value diverse skill sets and are eager to explore your potential.
Position Overview:
Kong is at the forefront of revolutionizing API management for developers. As a rapidly expanding and well-funded company, we boast a dedicated team and a satisfied customer base. Join our vibrant Docs team and contribute to creating impactful content that empowers users to achieve their objectives.
We oversee the entire documentation workflow—from establishing a solid foundation to integrating contributions from across our organization, while spearheading initiatives that enhance our content and its usability. Our hands-on approach with the product ensures that our documentation is accurate and that we become experts in what we write.
We are seeking a Senior Technical Writer who thrives on managing a diverse array of projects, is either familiar with or eager to learn about a docs-as-code delivery model, and is ready to make a meaningful impact in a fast-paced, growing company.
Your Responsibilities:
Engage with the Product: Adhere to our core principle that documentation must be validated through firsthand experience with the product.
Prioritize User Needs: Create clear deployment and configuration guides, user manuals, API and command references, tutorials, and best practices based on actual user requirements.
Collaborate Effectively: Documentation is a collaborative effort. Partner with writers, engineers, product managers, and UX designers to produce precise and effective technical content. Further enhance this content by collaborating with technical support teams, field specialists, and the broader community.
Commit to Continuous Improvement: Strive for enhancement in both documentation and personal skill development. Our team values constant improvements in processes, tools, and knowledge.
Your Profile:
Demonstrated empathy, curiosity, and a willingness to explore new challenges, particularly those that push your boundaries.
A minimum of 4 years of experience in producing clear, concise technical documentation for developers and/or enterprise administrators.
Proven track record of working asynchronously with teams across diverse locations.
