About the job
At Anduril Industries, we are pioneering defense technology to revolutionize military capabilities for the U.S. and its allies through state-of-the-art innovations. Our mission is to integrate cutting-edge technology, expertise, and modern business practices into the defense sector, transforming how military systems are conceived, developed, and deployed. Powered by Lattice OS, our systems leverage artificial intelligence to consolidate vast data streams into a dynamic, real-time 3D command and control center. As we navigate an era of strategic competition, we are dedicated to delivering advanced autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking solutions to military forces in record time.
JOIN OUR TEAM
Anduril's Space Division is at the forefront of enhancing our AI-driven capabilities within the realm of space. We focus on improving Space Domain Awareness, Space Control, and Command and Control for U.S. military and allied partners. Our efforts include the development of fully integrated hardware and software systems, such as Lattice for Space Missions and modular payloads, designed to counteract emerging threats in space and ensure our Guardians maintain a strategic advantage in this critical operational domain.
YOUR ROLE
- Lead the thermal design, analysis, testing, and vendor management of space hardware development projects.
- Utilize first principles as a guiding framework for decision-making, applying the appropriate level of analysis. Conduct hand calculations, utilize spreadsheets, and create MATLAB/Python models to inform design directions before advancing to detailed design phases.
- Establish robust thermal architectures capable of enduring the extremes of space environments. Identify and quantify thermal edge cases that impact system performance.
- Articulate the advantages and disadvantages of system architecture concerning thermal considerations.
- Deliver presentations on thermal status during formal reviews with internal teams and external customers, ensuring clear communication of timelines and technical progress.
- Innovate internal tools to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of thermal analysis.
- Design and execute thermal testing protocols to inform analyses and mitigate risks associated with critical hardware components.
- Create and maintain a comprehensive database of materials, thermal properties, and vendors relevant to thermal hardware for space applications.
- Contribute to failure analysis and root-cause investigations through test data and thermal assessments.
