Become an integral part of our vibrant and multidisciplinary Water Team as a Senior Wastewater Hydraulic Modeller. You will have the flexibility to work from one of our UK or Ireland offices while enjoying our adaptable hybrid working model.
In this pivotal role, you will contribute to the successful execution of significant water projects both in the UK and globally. Our initiatives include substantial flood alleviation strategies, pollution mitigation efforts, and essential infrastructure projects, all of which are essential for your ongoing professional advancement. A distinctive feature of our methodology is the complete integration of our modelling team with wider project teams, allowing our modellers to collaborate closely with experts from various disciplines to devise all-encompassing solutions.
As an industry pioneer in Blue-Green infrastructure and nature-based solutions, we engage with both public and private sector clients, including Severn Trent, Anglian Water, Northern Ireland Water, the Environment Agency, LLFAs, and other infrastructure providers. We conduct Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Strategies, Outline Business Cases, hydraulic modelling, and detailed design work. We are setting industry benchmarks by providing guidance that reflects best practices, keeping AECOM at the leading edge of the water sector. This role presents a remarkable opportunity to support a talented and diverse team dedicated to innovation, collaboration, and efficiency.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Model Development: Create hydraulic models and validate sewer networks; oversee integrated model development, assist in project scoping and planning, including flow survey validation, and develop strategic solutions for flood and pollution risks at the catchment scale.
- Technical Expertise: Introduce technical innovations, apply new technologies, solve client challenges, and formulate project scopes and tender submissions.
- Documentation: Prepare and present technical reports and documentation to effectively convey modelling results, showcasing strong communication skills.
- Mentorship: Guide and support team members in their professional growth while fostering positive relationships with clients.
- Quality Assurance: Review hydraulic models, calculations, and technical reports to ensure high-quality team delivery and adherence to modelling specifications.
