Become an integral part of our innovative and multidisciplinary Water Team as a Senior Wastewater Hydraulic Modeller. You will have the flexibility to work from one of our offices across the UK or Ireland, benefiting from our adaptable hybrid working environment.
In this pivotal role, you will contribute to impactful water projects both in the UK and abroad. Our work facilitates the development of essential flood alleviation schemes, pollution reduction initiatives, and infrastructure advancements, all of which will be crucial for your ongoing professional development. Our modelling team is fully integrated with other project teams, allowing for collaboration with specialists to craft holistic solutions.
As an industry leader in Blue-Green infrastructure and nature-based solutions, we partner with public and private sector clients including Severn Trent, Anglian Water, Northern Ireland Water, the Environment Agency, Local Lead Flood Authorities, and various infrastructure providers. We perform Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Strategies, Outline Business Cases, hydraulic modelling, and detailed design work. We set industry standards by providing guidance that benchmarks best practices, maintaining AECOM's position at the forefront of the water sector. This role presents a unique opportunity to support a diverse and talented team dedicated to innovation, collaboration, and efficiency.
Your Responsibilities:
- Model Development: Create and validate hydraulic models of sewer networks; lead integrated model development, and assist in project scoping and planning including flow survey validation and strategic solutions for flood and pollution risks.
- Technical Expertise: Drive technical innovation through the application of cutting-edge technologies; provide problem-solving solutions for clients and develop project scopes and tender responses.
- Documentation: Generate and present technical reports, presentations, and documentation to effectively convey modelling outcomes, utilizing strong communication skills.
- Leadership: Mentor and support team members in their professional growth and nurture positive client relationships.
- Quality Assurance: Review hydraulic models, calculations, and technical reports to ensure quality delivery and adherence to modelling specifications.
