About the job
Why Choose Stand Insurance? At Stand, we are pioneering a new era in global property protection. Our innovative use of advanced physics and artificial intelligence enables us to model catastrophic risks at the asset level, automating underwriting and loss mitigation processes before they occur. While traditional insurance merely reacts to losses, we focus on creating a scalable risk engine that proactively addresses potential threats.
We step in where conventional insurers retreat, providing precise modeling where others rely on approximations. Our systems are designed to drive impactful outcomes rather than simply adjusting pricing.
About the Role: As the Simulation Platform Engineer, you will take ownership of and enhance the simulation and digital twin platform that supports Stand’s modeling workflows. This role encompasses the development and maintenance of production simulation pipelines, ensuring the reliability of our infrastructure and CI/CD processes, as well as managing geospatial data processing, annotation, and quality control systems. You will also contribute to the development of new digital twin capabilities that facilitate our expansion into various geographies and peril types, such as hurricanes.
Collaboration is key in this role. You will work closely with Physics Simulation Engineers, Machine Learning Engineers, and subject matter experts specific to different perils, ensuring our simulation, AI, and geospatial pipelines are robust, observable, and scalable.
This position is tailored for individuals who thrive in dynamic environments, take full ownership of projects, collaborate effectively across teams, and are inspired by the challenge of building innovative solutions from the ground up.
