The Site Engineer will play a vital role in the successful execution of civil engineering projects, focusing on tailings dams, water dams, mining site civil works, roads, and linear infrastructure. This position involves on-site engineering tasks, stakeholder coordination, processing Requests for Information (RFIs), conducting quality assurance inspections, and preparing detailed reports. The selected candidate will ensure that all activities comply with project specifications, industry standards, and AECOM’s quality and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
Site Engineering and Coordination
- Oversee and manage daily engineering activities on-site to ensure adherence to project plans and timelines.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
- Respond promptly and accurately to RFIs, ensuring alignment with project design and requirements.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and contracts to provide technical guidance on-site.
- Monitor and manage site logistics, ensuring effective resource allocation and schedule compliance.
- Assist in preparing as-built plans and documents and contribute to project closure reports.
Quality Assurance and Inspection
- Conduct regular quality assurance inspections to ensure construction activities meet design specifications, industry standards, and AECOM’s quality protocols.
- Identify and rectify quality issues, non-conformities, or deviations from project requirements.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate records of site activities, including photographic evidence and daily reports.
- Collaborate with the quality assurance team to implement and uphold quality control procedures.
Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance
- Ensure that all site activities comply with AECOM's health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Conduct safety inspections and participate in safety meetings (toolbox talks) to promote a safety culture on-site.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks and hazards to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.
Reporting and Documentation
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation of site activities, ensuring compliance with project standards and requirements.
