About the Role:
Join our dynamic team as a WordPress Developer, where you will have the opportunity to design, develop, and maintain high-quality websites using WordPress. This role calls for strong skills in theme customization, plugin development, performance enhancement, and site security. As a WordPress Developer, your primary goal will be to create visually captivating, responsive websites that are optimized for speed, SEO, and user-friendly experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Website Development:
- Design and customize WordPress websites using themes, page builders (such as Elementor, Divi, WPBakery), or custom coding solutions.
- Develop and maintain child themes for ease of future updates.
- Create bespoke templates for landing pages, blogs, and content-intensive sites.
- Plugin Management & Customization:
- Install, configure, and tailor plugins to enhance functionality (including WooCommerce, Yoast SEO, and Contact Form 7).
- Develop or extend plugins using PHP as required.
- Ensure that plugins are compatible with themes and remain updated.
- Front-End & UX:
- Translate Figma/Sketch/Adobe XD designs into flawless WordPress pages.
- Ensure responsive design and compatibility across various browsers and devices.
- Implement accessibility best practices in compliance with WCAG standards.
- Performance Optimization:
- Enhance site speed through caching, minification, lazy loading, and CDN integration.
- Conduct performance audits using tools like Google Lighthouse, GTmetrix, or PageSpeed Insights.
- Improve Core Web Vitals to boost SEO and usability.
- Security & Maintenance:
- Regularly update WordPress, themes, and plugins to maintain security.
- Strengthen security using tools such as Wordfence, Sucuri, or iThemes Security.
- Establish regular backup and disaster recovery processes.
- Collaboration & Support:
- Work collaboratively with marketing, content, and design teams to ensure web assets support marketing initiatives.
- Diagnose and resolve site issues, fix bugs, and provide support to non-technical team members in using the CMS.
