Position Summary
The Social Media and Communications Coordinator is instrumental in enhancing the digital footprint of the Office of City Representative and Special Events. This role involves crafting engaging video and digital content, visual assets, and multimedia narratives to bolster special event operations, community engagement, and outreach efforts. The coordinator will manage social media channels, create and refine content, assist with high-priority initiatives, and ensure a cohesive and captivating brand presence across various platforms. Collaboration with internal teams and support for press and event coordination are key components of this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce, edit, and deliver high-quality video content for social media, websites, presentations, and digital campaigns.
- Design visual assets including graphics, motion graphics, reels, short videos, and promotional materials.
- Ensure alignment of all content with OCRSE brand standards and the City's communication policies.
- Co-manage OCRSE’s primary social media accounts (e.g., Instagram, LinkedIn) involving content strategy, scheduling, posting, and community interaction.
- Analyze digital performance metrics to evaluate reach, engagement, and effectiveness; recommend data-driven enhancements.
- Collaborate with relevant program areas and other City departments to generate content supporting events, initiatives, and campaigns.
- Work with external partners as required (vendors, contractors, influencers, etc.).
- Capture and create content during events, on-site activities, trainings, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Provide live event coverage on social media platforms and create post-event summaries and highlight reels.
- Assist in formulating content calendars, campaign briefs, and project timelines.
- Offer creative guidance and feedback to contributors generating additional digital content.
- Stay current with digital media trends, new technologies, and best practices in video production and social media interaction.
- Explore opportunities to enhance OCRSE’s digital engagement through innovative content formats, storytelling methods, and engagement strategies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
