Auditbase is the premier clinical software developed by Auditdata, specifically designed for audiology departments in NHS and Scandinavian hospitals. It effectively manages patient records, audiometric data, reporting, and integrates with hospital systems. With over 20 years of continuous development, it boasts a dedicated and loyal clinical user base.
Auditbase is utilized in 90% of audiology departments across Scandinavian and UK hospitals. This is not a mere side project; you will be maintaining essential patient care infrastructure that clinicians rely on daily across two countries.
About the Role:
Join a small, tight-knit engineering team that values trust and collaboration. You will take on significant ownership of crucial parts of the codebase from your first day.
Important Note: This role requires knowledge of Gupta SQLWindows / SQLBase, a specialized 4GL stack. We recognize this is uncommon. If you possess experience in Windows desktop development (VB, C++, C#, PowerBuilder, or similar) alongside strong SQL skills, we strongly encourage your application, even if you lack prior Gupta experience. We are willing to train the right individual.
What You Will Do:
Develop and maintain GUI components and business logic within the Gupta SQLWindows / SQLBase environment.
Optimize and maintain MS SQL and SQLBase databases; write and refine complex queries.
Create and manage reports using Crystal Reports and Gupta Report Builder.
Support and maintain HL7 integrations with hospital information systems.
Conduct developer testing and engage in structured QA cycles.
Required Skills and Expertise:
2–3 years of experience in developing Windows desktop applications (Visual Basic, Visual C++, C#, Delphi, or similar).
Proficient in SQL; capable of writing and optimizing complex queries while considering database performance.
Experience in creating reports and data visualizations, preferably with Crystal Reports.
Self-motivated and resourceful; able to independently solve problems.
Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
Background in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with SQLWindows, PowerBuilder, or another 4GL environment.
Familiarity with healthcare IT standards (HL7).
Experience in Agile/Scrum teams.
