Join Visa's innovative team as a Software Engineer specializing in Developer Experience and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE). This pivotal role supports Visa's Cloud platform strategy by ensuring our development tools empower engineers to concentrate on innovation rather than infrastructure. You will advocate for observability best practices and automate the resolution of recurring issues while collaborating closely with software engineering teams to uphold security, availability, and performance. Your responsibilities will encompass issue triaging, infrastructure management collaboration, and comprehensive monitoring setup.
We are in search of a dynamic hybrid engineer who possesses a deep understanding of at least one major DevTool, swiftly addresses tool-related challenges alongside developers, and employs systems thinking to ensure the reliability of applications and infrastructure while enhancing developer productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
DevTools Support:
- Act as the primary contact for developers utilizing tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, Jira, or Artifactory.
- Quickly troubleshoot and resolve tool-related issues to minimize developer downtime.
- Maintain and optimize CI/CD pipelines and integrations for reliability and scalability.
- Collaborate with development teams to enhance workflows and automation.
Site Reliability Engineering:
- Design, implement, and sustain systems for high availability, scalability, and performance.
- Monitor and enhance application reliability through proactive measures and incident response.
- Develop and maintain observability solutions including metrics, logging, and tracing.
- Engage in on-call rotations and lead root cause analysis for incidents.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:
- Partner with engineering teams to identify reliability risks and implement best practices.
- Document processes, troubleshooting guides, and reliability playbooks.
- Advocate for automation and self-service solutions to minimize operational overhead.
This is a hybrid position, with the expectation of in-office days to be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
