The GenAI Platform team at DoorDash is at the forefront of building the centralized AI infrastructure that powers a multitude of Generative AI use cases, including Search, Recommendations, Fraud Detection, Chatbots, Merchant Tools, and more. As part of the Machine Learning Platform (MLP) organization, we facilitate critical real-time decision-making for millions of orders every day.
About the Team
Our team is responsible for:
- LLM Gateway — providing unified access to OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and open-weights models with comprehensive cost attribution, guardrails, and multi-region deployment.
- MCP Gateway — managing authentication, tool registry, and rate limiting for MCP servers across the organization.
- Agent Gateway — establishing the infrastructure necessary for building and deploying AI agents with tool access, streaming, and observability.
- Evals Platform — facilitating evals with human annotation, LLM-as-a-judge mechanisms, auto-calibration, and customized use-case-specific UIs for human annotation and debugging.
- Project Slingshot (Open-Weights Models) — focusing on fine-tuning, online inference, and batch inference for open-weights LLMs.
We are a dynamic team of 6 engineers in a high-growth phase, and as every AI product team at DoorDash integrates with GenAI, we are tasked with scaling our infrastructure to meet growing demands.
About the Role
As a member of the GenAI Platform team, you will contribute to developing the foundational infrastructure layer relied upon by all AI product teams at DoorDash. You will rotate through various areas, including agents, evals, open-weights models, and gateways, gaining broad exposure to the GenAI stack while delving deeply into impactful challenges.
