About the Role
At Hopper Technology Solutions (HTS), we are on the lookout for an innovative and dynamic Engineering Manager to spearhead our dedicated squad focused on high-impact Enterprise and Corporate B2B partnerships. This is your chance to play a pivotal role in transforming travel technology for major global players.
In this position, you will transcend traditional management roles, serving as a technical steward and a people multiplier. You will guide a talented team of engineers in designing and building sophisticated, distributed systems capable of processing millions of transactions. Your leadership will bridge the gap between technical excellence, enterprise reliability, and the rapid growth pace characteristic of Hopper.
Daily Responsibilities Include:
Recruit, mentor, and coach a diverse team. You'll foster a culture of trust where engineers feel empowered to take ownership.
Collaborate closely with product teams to convert strategic partner requirements into actionable technical roadmaps. Your goal will be to deliver high-quality features while managing the complexities of B2B integrations and public-facing APIs.
While coding won't occupy all your time, you will remain deeply engaged in technical discussions. You’ll lead architectural reviews, assist in resolving complex debugging challenges, and ensure our technology stack is scalable and robust.
Manage the operations of your team’s services, establishing on-call rotations, strategically reducing technical debt, and ensuring our systems meet the strict SLAs demanded by our enterprise partners.
Serve as the primary technical liaison for external partners, adeptly translating complex system limitations to non-technical stakeholders and advocating for optimal technical solutions. Occasional travel within North America may be required for client meetings.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
You possess a minimum of 2 years of experience leading engineering teams and over 7 years in software development, ideally with expertise in JVM/Scala or React.
You thrive in ambiguous situations and can create an MVP without compromising the long-term integrity of the system.
You have extensive experience with microservices, distributed systems, and designing APIs that are robust enough for global enterprise applications.
You prioritize delivering high-quality products swiftly and efficiently.
