Your Role
As a Software Engineering Manager, you will lead a team dedicated to maintaining our infrastructure, Internal Development Platform, and ensuring product accessibility at Ripple. This role encompasses overseeing the development and reliability of critical infrastructure components, including compute, build, integration, deployment, and secure access. You will focus on site reliability while being attuned to the internal engineering experience, making informed decisions on development priorities. Your expertise in building Internal Developer Platforms will empower continuous progress and delivery, minimizing complexity. You will implement effective mechanisms to assess reliability, availability, latency, and cost, ensuring that the right instrumentation is in place for ongoing reviews and improvements. You will serve as a force multiplier for developers and application owners across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate a team of infrastructure engineers to consistently deliver high availability and reliability of Ripple products.
- Possess strong insights into platform engineering and the development of Internal Developer Platforms.
- Oversee the building and operation of production software at internet scale.
- Strike a balance between proactive action and making well-informed strategic decisions.
- Collaborate closely with key partners and engage directly with engineering customers to understand their needs and enhance their experience.
- Own, design, and maintain processes and tooling within the infrastructure organization, integrating your own tools and processes.
- Support operations related to infrastructure features and services.
- Incorporate observability into internal infrastructure services and provide related frameworks for applications.
- Reduce mean time to resolve incidents by promptly addressing monitoring alerts and problems reported by employees or customers.
