We are searching for a talented Sous Chef who aspires to advance into a Head Chef position at a prestigious gastro inn located in the picturesque North Yorkshire countryside.
This charming county inn is renowned for its delightful ambiance and is surrounded by stunning landscapes. With 10 guest bedrooms and an excellent reputation in the local area, it is celebrated for its traditional British cuisine with a modern twist, crafted from fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The establishment sees a bustling weekend service, catering to approximately 150 to 200 covers.
Joining a skilled brigade of 5 chefs, we are looking for a passionate and dedicated Sous Chef eager to propel their culinary career. This role offers the potential for rapid progression into a Head Chef position within 6 to 12 months, working closely with the Executive Chef, who will mentor you across all facets of kitchen management.
The ideal candidate must possess experience in high-quality fresh food establishments and have a background in high-volume service.
As a Sous Chef, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the Head Chef in managing and leading the kitchen brigade, and overseeing operations in their absence.
- Leading by example to ensure consistency and quality throughout the team.
- Applying a firm yet fair management style to meet the high standards expected in this busy kitchen.
- Overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations to maintain efficiency and quality.
- Providing ongoing training and development opportunities for all team members.
- Demonstrating strong skills in both man management and kitchen operations.
