Role Summary
The Specialty Pharmacy Patient Access Specialist is an essential member of the GBS Rx Advantage program, dedicated to ensuring patients have seamless, efficient, and affordable access to vital medications. As a compassionate advocate, you will facilitate communication between patients, healthcare providers, pharmacies, and health plan sponsors. This role provides a unique opportunity to make a tangible impact on patients’ lives by enhancing medication accessibility and affordability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guide and inform patients about pharmacy benefits and prescription drug formularies.
- Navigate intricate prescription processes to guarantee timely and cost-effective access to medications.
- Coordinate communication among patients, healthcare providers, pharmacies, and pharmaceutical manufacturers.
- Address patient inquiries and issues swiftly with empathy and outstanding customer service.
- Assist pharmacy advocate staff and patients in completing and submitting required forms and applications.
- Monitor prescription fulfillment, proactively follow up, and resolve application issues.
- Utilize Excel spreadsheets regularly to analyze enrollment, usage, and revenue data.
- Effectively communicate with provider representatives, pharmacies, and third-party representatives.
- Document all patient interactions meticulously to ensure continuity of care and accuracy in resolution.
