How you can contribute to creating a better workplace
As a Staff Engineer (L4) on the 1-on-1s team, you will be instrumental in the technical foundation of a product designed to help employees and managers connect, excel, and develop. You’ll influence backend architecture and execution for a recent Ruby/Rails overhaul, emphasizing database-centric design and substantial performance improvements. Working with a clean codebase and positive metrics, you’ll facilitate vital integrations (Kafka, Temporal, AWS) that support contemporary data and event streaming. By mentoring team members and proactively enhancing system reliability, your contributions will empower our platform to be even more dependable, enabling our clients to perform at their best with assurance.
In this incredible team, you will:
- Serve as the primary backend expert for the 1-on-1s team, owning architecture, implementation, and performance in Ruby/Rails and PostgreSQL on AWS infrastructure.
- Pursue technical excellence through optimized database architecture and resilient backend engineering.
- Enhance and maintain integrations for event streaming and data pipelines, involving Kafka and Temporal.
- Mentor junior engineers, imparting knowledge and facilitating team growth.
- Take a proactive role in on-call duties, ensuring system reliability and minimizing incidents.
- Collaborate across teams, supporting product initiatives while safeguarding our core responsibilities.
