About the job
About Us:
At Lunar, we are pioneering a groundbreaking software platform that aims to transform healthcare systems. Our mission is to revolutionize patient care through advanced, AI-driven software designed to empower hospitals in delivering unparalleled services. Our innovative platform forms the essential backbone of health systems, streamlining clinical and operational workflows at scale with the world’s first AI-native hospital information system.
This next-generation platform represents a complete overhaul of the information infrastructure essential for healthcare operations. From healthcare professionals including doctors, nurses, and pharmacists to administrative roles such as coders and billers, as well as supply chain management and patient interactions, Lunar's software supports all aspects of hospital functionality. We view this mission as the ‘moon landing’ of healthcare—a monumental and ambitious endeavor that many deem unattainable.
Supported by leading venture capital firms in Silicon Valley, we believe in the strength of a compact, high-performance team of experienced professionals who operate at their utmost potential. We seek individuals who are motivated, inquisitive, possess sound judgment, and are committed to producing the best work of their careers.
Our infrastructure is built using Elixir, a language we embrace for its fault tolerance, concurrency, and scalability—critical features for managing real-time patient data in high-stakes environments such as Emergency Departments, ICUs, and Operating Rooms.
We are on the lookout for a Staff Software Engineer who is eager to confront some of the most challenging technical issues in healthcare, all within a small, agile, and mission-oriented team. If you are passionate about crafting clean, robust code and aspire to rebuild the software infrastructure of modern hospitals from the ground up, we would love to connect with you.
Technical Challenges You May Tackle in the First 6 Months:
Modern Cloud Architecture Development: Design a cloud-native platform with Elixir at its core, free from legacy systems.
Access Control System for Clinical Data: Develop a sophisticated access control mechanism featuring fine-grained permissions that respects clinical data structures and patient data ownership while facilitating population-level insights for improved public health.
Continuous Uptime for Hospitals: Create and implement infrastructure that ensures hospitals remain operational 24/7, regardless of circumstances.
