Position Overview: As a vital member of our team, the Customer Service Representative serves as the primary point of contact for customers at Little General Store. This role involves accurately processing sales transactions, ensuring the store is well-stocked, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. Candidates must be at least eighteen (18) years old to handle sales of tobacco, lottery products, and alcohol.
Position Classification: Choose between Full-Time or Part-Time options.
Position Reports To: Retail Store Manager and/or Assistant Manager.
Minimum Education: Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in English is required.
Physical Demands:
- Capability to lift, push, pull, and carry equipment or boxes weighing up to 50 pounds;
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (95%), with limited sitting (5%);
- Comfort with climbing, balancing, reaching, grabbing, stooping, crawling, bending, and crouching for prolonged periods;
- Proficiency in using close, distant, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and visual focus;
- Ability to identify and differentiate various odors;
- Strong auditory skills to clearly hear and interpret voice commands and telephone communications;
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Always present a polished and professional appearance.
2. Foster a positive atmosphere by welcoming customers with a friendly smile.
3. Assist customers in locating products as needed.
4. Proactively suggest related products to enhance sales.
5. Accurately record sales transactions and manage cash handling, ensuring to provide correct change when necessary.
6. Master and adhere to all approved payment systems and transaction processes.
7. Understand and comply with all state regulations regarding sales of lottery, alcohol, and tobacco.
8. Encourage customer participation in all Loyalty Programs (such as Plenti, BP, etc.).
9. Vigilantly monitor the property and report any suspicious activities to the Manager on duty.
10. Supervise gas pumps to prevent theft and report incidents to the Manager.
11. Notify the Manager of any equipment or system malfunctions.
12. Efficiently stock coolers and shelves to maintain product availability and ensure proper pricing.
13. Uphold sanitary conditions in food service areas to comply with local health standards.
14. Actively contribute to the cleanliness and safety of the store.
15. Comply with the Locked Door policy when applicable.
16. Be prepared to implement all security and emergency protocols.
17. Report any customer accidents or injuries to the Manager on duty.
18. Follow all corporate and handbook policies of Little General.
19. Communicate any issues or concerns to the Manager on Duty.
20. Complete the Daily Shift Report at the end of each shift.
21. Perform additional duties as assigned.
