About the Role:
We are seeking a seasoned sales professional with a preference for those experienced in open source technologies to engage with global enterprise clients. The ideal candidate has contributed to the sales journey of early-stage enterprise solutions in a startup environment. As a Strategic Account Executive, you will play a crucial role in our expansion strategy and in acquiring new clients. You will serve as the primary liaison and representative of Kong to potential customers.
Your Responsibilities:
Promote and sell the Kong Enterprise Platform to enterprise-level customers
Achieve individual sales targets and objectives
Manage your portfolio of accounts by understanding and documenting customer buying criteria, identifying appropriate sales strategies, ensuring pipeline accuracy, and guiding leads to successful closure
Provide leadership and direction throughout the pre- and post-sales process while analyzing successes and areas for improvement
Willingness to travel to client sites as necessary (30% - 50% travel expected)
Perform additional tasks as assigned by management
Your Profile:
A genuine passion for ensuring customers derive value from their investments with Kong
Over 10 years of experience in enterprise software sales; familiarity with open source, APIs, and/or infrastructure software is highly advantageous
Proven ability to leverage established client relationships and effective sales techniques
Strong communication skills and interpersonal capabilities
Exceptional negotiation, presentation, and closing skills
Highly motivated, results-driven, and goal-oriented
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in fast-paced startup environments is a significant advantage
