As New York City's primary manager of capital construction projects, the DDC is responsible for the development and renovation of essential civic facilities used by the community, including firehouses, libraries, police precincts, courthouses, and senior centers. We also focus on enhancing vital infrastructure through roadway, sewer, and water main construction projects across all five boroughs, ensuring a resilient and healthy city.
Interns will participate in hands-on technical assignments, receive mentorship from senior technical staff, and engage in seminars, site visits, and on-the-job training to understand the complexities of constructing and upgrading the City’s public facilities and infrastructure.
The Safety and Site Support Summer Intern will assist the Safety & Site Support Units in their operations, which include Construction Safety, Quality Assurance, Land Surveying, Geotechnical Investigations, and Environmental and Hazardous Materials Services. Responsibilities will encompass preparing monthly reports, revising procedures, maintaining various applications and databases, and supporting data review, scanning, and archiving.
