ABOUT THE ROLE
The Sustainability Manager will spearhead the creation and execution of sustainability strategies for large-scale event productions. Collaborating with venue operators and key stakeholders, this position ensures that all operations adhere to established environmental objectives, with a focus on waste minimization, resource optimization, and responsible sourcing. The role includes developing practical processes, monitoring sustainability performance, and fostering continuous improvement to achieve measurable outcomes throughout the event lifecycle.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate and implement sustainability plans for all grandstands and fan zones, ensuring compliance with FOM requirements and local government regulations.
- Collaborate with production, logistics, food and beverage, cleaning, waste management, and suppliers to integrate sustainable practices during the design, construction, operation, and dismantling phases.
- Oversee compliance of materials (recyclability, sourcing, reuse options), including audits of construction methods, temporary structures, and vendor sustainability credentials.
- Manage assessments of carbon footprints related to grandstand construction, fan-zone operations, energy consumption, and transportation.
