Position Overview
We are seeking a talented Synthetic Organic Chemist to join our dynamic Chemistry team. In this role, you will engage in the organic synthesis of molecules utilizing a range of chemical and instrumental techniques, adhering to established SOPs and health & safety protocols while operating with minimal supervision. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Planning, developing, and optimizing synthetic strategies to produce high-quality organic compounds.
- Safely setting up and organizing equipment and reactions to enhance laboratory efficiency.
- Creating methods for the separation of complex mixtures, employing advanced purification techniques such as normal phase chromatography, reversed phase chromatography, and ion-exchange methods.
- Demonstrating extensive knowledge of diverse organic laboratory techniques, including oxygen and water-sensitive chemistry, organometallic synthesis, and microscale manipulations.
- Characterizing synthesized products through independent analysis of spectral data.
- Documenting all results and any deviations encountered during synthesis while proposing enhancements to procedures.
- Presenting data clearly and accurately, both verbally and in written formats.
- Ensuring compliance with environmental policies and actively participating in initiatives to mitigate environmental impacts related to your work.
- Upholding health and safety standards within the laboratory environment.
