Job Description
We are currently searching for a Systems Engineer to join our Omen team at our Costa Mesa headquarters. Omen is our innovative hover-to-cruise autonomous air vehicle (AAV), designed to offer the endurance, payload capacity, and mission versatility of larger aircraft, all without the necessity of runways. The Omen can be launched from ship decks, beaches, or remote island clearings, ensuring unparalleled operational flexibility across both military and civilian applications. This groundbreaking tail-sitter aircraft has secured a mass-production contract for 50 systems, representing a significant commitment to our production capabilities and bolstering the development of future systems.
As a Systems Engineer, you will engage in aircraft development within a lean and high-ownership culture, allowing you to directly influence product outcomes and achieve rapid design iterations that can reach flight status in months.
Responsibilities:- Implement a suitable Agile Systems Engineering methodology in alignment with the Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) to enhance the Omen capability at a critical speed.
- Assist design teams in the advancement of Technical Performance Measures (TPMs) throughout the design lifecycle.
- Participate in System Design Reviews (SDR) and engineering governance processes including Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR), Critical Design Reviews (CDR), Test Readiness Reviews (TRR), and Safety Review Boards (SRB), advocating for the Systems Engineering discipline.
- Manage and uphold Functional Decomposition, System Breakdown Structure (SBS), Product Breakdown Structure (PBS), and Architecture diagrams.
- Create and refine essential Systems Engineering design documents such as System Description Documents (SDDs) and Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
- Promote the application of the Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP) to facilitate system development.
- Design and shape representative Hardware In Lab (HIL) and Hardware In The Loop (HITL) integration environments, and contribute to surrogate testing initiatives.
