JOB CONTEXT:
Since October 2023, Gaza has faced an unparalleled humanitarian crisis characterized by mass destruction, displacement, and significant loss of life. By October 2025, over 67,173 Palestinians had been killed, with 169,780 injured, and approximately 90% of the population—2.1 million people—displaced several times. The health system is on the brink of collapse, humanitarian access is severely restricted, and food insecurity threatens the entire population, with nearly half a million individuals at risk of famine. Attacks on hospitals and schools persist, while widespread explosive ordnance contamination jeopardizes civilian safety and hinders humanitarian efforts. Roughly 25% of the injured—around 22,500 individuals—require immediate and long-term rehabilitation, including thousands of children who have endured life-altering injuries, making Gaza home to the largest population of child amputees in modern history.
YOUR MISSION:
Reporting to the Country Director, the Technical Head of Programme (THoP) will define and guide HI’s technical strategy in Palestine. As a vital member of the Senior Management Team (SMT), the THoP will ensure that HI’s program design and execution are needs-based, inclusive, technically robust, and consistent with HI’s global frameworks and sectoral standards. Furthermore, the THoP will spearhead the development of innovative, high-quality programming across various sectors, collaborating closely with the Country Director and other team members.
