Traffic Control Specialist / General Laborer
Job Summary:
Essel Environmental is on the lookout for dedicated and dependable individuals to join our team in the role of Traffic Control Specialist and General Laborer. In this dynamic position, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of construction sites while assisting with various labor tasks that support our ongoing projects. As a Traffic Control Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to direct traffic safely around construction zones, safeguarding both workers and the public.
Key Responsibilities:
- Traffic Management: Oversee and regulate the flow of traffic around construction sites, employing appropriate signs and signals.
- Site Support: Offer general labor assistance including site cleaning, material movement, and operation of light machinery.
- Safety Regulations: Follow all safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
- Effective Communication: Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members, site managers, and drivers to ensure seamless operations.
- Equipment Management: Assist with the loading and unloading of equipment and setup of tools and materials for various tasks.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in traffic control or general labor is preferred but not mandatory.
- Certification: Traffic Control Flagging certification is advantageous (training will be provided if necessary).
- Physical Capabilities: Must be able to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), stand for extended periods, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Reliability: A strong work ethic, punctuality, and dependability are essential for success in this role.
- Communication Skills: Must be able to follow instructions and effectively communicate with both team members and the public.
Requirements:
- Must be physically fit and capable of performing labor-intensive tasks.
- Willingness to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Must hold a valid driver's license.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends.
- Must be willing to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required (hard hat, vest, etc.).
