We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Travel Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) for a contract assignment at a respected community hospital near Derby, Kansas. With a focus on teamwork and patient-centered care, this role involves evening shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, providing exceptional nursing care in a supportive environment.
Unit and Role Details:
- Unit Type: Telemetry unit
- Shift: Evening (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Unit Capacity: 26 beds
- Staffing: 36 professionals, including charge nurses, RNs, and patient care technicians
- Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:5, ensuring manageable caseloads
- Equipment Utilization: Familiarity with lifts, wheelchairs, gait belts, walkers/canes, and EMR systems is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver outstanding nursing care to patients recovering from various procedures such as TURPs, gastric bypass, and joint replacements.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Utilize critical nursing skills, including Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and adherence to NIH protocols.
- Maintain unit standards and foster a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current RN license with telemetry experience preferred.
- ACLS certification is mandatory; familiarity with NIH protocols is highly valued.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities to enhance unit culture.
- Outgoing personality to effectively engage with patients and team members.
