As an Ultrasonographer, you will collaborate with physicians by conducting expert diagnostic ultrasound examinations and related procedures that are crucial for the diagnosis, prognosis, treatment, and follow-up of patients with diverse health conditions. This position requires a consistent demonstration of empathy and understanding towards patients to alleviate anxiety and enhance their comfort during procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients, assess requests for diagnostic ultrasound services, and select appropriate techniques for application.
- Prepare necessary equipment and accessories, complete sterile tray setup, position patients, and perform ultrasound procedures.
- Assist in lifting and transporting patients to and from imaging devices.
- Provide comprehensive patient education before, during, and after procedures.
- Monitor patient conditions and relay pertinent information to physicians.
- Generate patient reports and electronically transmit acquired images for accession and retrieval.
- Ensure continuity of care through effective collaboration with other departments.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment, troubleshoot issues, and promptly report deficiencies to management.
- Manage supply inventory to maintain adequate stock levels.
- Collect data for monitoring and assessing quality management.
- Support departmental initiatives, including process improvements and problem-solving efforts.
- Guide and mentor students in clinical practices.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
