Join our dynamic team as a Utility Locate Technician at Centric Services, where your primary responsibility will be mastering our established protocols for underground utility line locating. Safety and quality are paramount in this field-based role, which involves driving and traversing various terrains to identify the locations of underground utility lines and pipes using advanced magnetic sensing equipment and detailed maps. You'll mark the location and type of lines, such as gas and fiber, with color-coded spray paint.
This position demands physical stamina, as you'll be walking and working outdoors in various weather conditions, requiring activities like crouching, bending, lifting, and occasional digging with a shovel.
This is a field-based role, requiring you to report to our warehouse before heading out to the job sites within the Centric communities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and process work tickets from the Korweb system.
- Interpret utility maps to identify underground utilities.
- Utilize an RD7100 for precise utility detection.
- Dig as necessary to accurately locate underground utilities.
- Mark utility paths and types with appropriate fluorescent paint.
- Adhere to Utility, State, and Federal guidelines for utility line marking.
- Document work performed using company-issued devices.
- Wear assigned personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain a professional appearance.
- Follow established safety, quality, and operational protocols.
- Complete routes and work orders within designated timelines.
- Engage in safety meetings to promote a safe working environment.
- Report findings and issues promptly to management.
- Provide courteous service to customers and colleagues.
- Maintain a reliable attendance record.
- Keep your assigned vehicle in clean condition.
- Immediately report any customer, equipment, or vehicle issues.
