About the job
About the Role
We are on the lookout for a skilled UX Designer to take charge of the user experience across Vestcom's innovative digital product offerings, particularly focusing on In-Store Digital Media and Electronic Shelf Labels (ESL). This pivotal role involves understanding the needs of retailers and brands, designing solutions to enhance user adoption and satisfaction, and collaborating closely with product management and engineering teams to deliver impactful experiences that generate measurable business outcomes.
The perfect candidate will blend robust research capabilities with practical design execution, maintaining direct engagement with users to translate insights into user-friendly interfaces. You will craft experiences for diverse user groups—retailers managing shelf-edge media programs, brands launching advertising campaigns, and store operations teams utilizing in-store technology. This is a high-visibility position central to Vestcom's transition from traditional paper-based solutions to cutting-edge digital retail media.
Key Responsibilities
User Research & Discovery
Conduct continuous user research with retailers, brands, and store operations teams to identify workflows, pain points, and potential opportunities.
Collaborate with product managers on customer discovery by participating in interviews and translating insights into actionable design implications.
Design and facilitate usability tests to validate design hypotheses prior to allocating engineering resources.
Create user personas, journey maps, and service blueprints to inform product strategies across the portfolio.
Product Design & Execution
Lead the end-to-end design process for In-Store Digital Media and ESL products, from initial concept to detailed specifications.
Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that effectively balance user requirements with technical constraints and business objectives.
Establish and uphold design systems and component libraries to facilitate consistent and scalable product development.
Design for multiple contexts: retailer dashboards, brand campaign tools, store operations interfaces, and in-store displays.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Engage with product management and engineering as part of integrated product teams, working collaboratively on solutions rather than simply receiving handoffs.
Coordinate with sales and customer success teams to gather user feedback and inform design priorities.
Communicate design rationale, progress, and insights to stakeholders across the organization.
Contribute to go-to-market strategies by designing demo experiences, sales materials, and onboarding processes.
