THE PROGRAM
The VEG New ER Doctor (NERD) program is crafted to transform practicing veterinarians into adept, confident emergency doctors. This immersive six-month program is unparalleled, equipping participants with the knowledge and skills needed to transition into full-time ER doctors at VEG upon successful completion. Through a combination of academic instruction, clinical training, and personalized mentorship, we ignite a passion for emergency medicine and highlight the significance of life-saving veterinary care. If you're eager to enhance your surgical skills, master endoscopy, work with exotic animals, and embrace the rewards of customer-focused care in an innovative hospital setting, we invite you to join our NERD program.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Collaborate closely with experienced VEG doctors who will guide you through real ER cases, providing invaluable hands-on learning and mentorship.
- New ER Doctors (NERDS) will gain practical ER experience by completing 3-4 shifts per week (including days, swings, and nights), alongside weekly case discussions and literature reviews at our cutting-edge facilities.
- Acquire best practices for client-centered communication and care, embodying the VEG Way.
